Traffic Management for DDFIO
Primary Public Traffic Routing
All public golf traffic will be directed towards Lahinch Golf Club from as far out as the M18 to facilitate appropriate flows and to avoid congestion on the local road network.
Traffic from the North (Galway direction) and South (Limerick direction) will be directed onto M18 towards Ennis exiting at Junction 12. From Junction 12, all golf traffic will be directed towards Inagh where the public traffic will turn left onto the R460 to Milton Malbay to join the N67 travelling north towards Lahinch and the Main Park & Ride facility located at Moy.
Golf traffic within North Clare will be directed along the N67 from Ballyvaughan down the coast road to the North Park & Ride facility located opposite Kilmacreehy cemetery.
All Park & Ride facilities are FREE to golf traffic and members of the public who may not want to attend the golf tournament but wish to travel to Lahinch for the day. Park & Ride facilities open from Wednesday 3rd July to Sunday 7th July between the hours of 06:00hrs to 22:00hrs.
All members of the public should turn off all Sat Nav devices and following the appropriate signage and Gardaí on duty.
North Clare Tourist Traffic 3rd – 7th July 2019
In order to facilitate the safe running of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, the R478 will be closed between Lahinch and Liscannor (Lahinch Golf Club to O’Brien’s Bridge) between Wednesday 3rd and Sunday 7th July from 06.00 – 22.00 daily.
No public vehicles (Cars/Cyclists/Coaches) will be allowed use this route during the above periods.
